My Crib @ 3 residen

Welcome to 3residen @ Melawati. Please take the lift up.

When you exit the lift, please turn right and you will see my place.

Welcome to My Crib.

Kindly leave your shoes in the foyer and please come in.

Make yourself at home. This is the dinning hall and further down the living hall.

On your left is the kitchen (which is bigger than it looks), and the door opens up to the yard.

Past the kitchen is the main corridor.

The 1st door on the left is the guest bathroom.

Move further down the corridor and the door on the right takes you into the master bedroom.

On the other end of the master bedroom is the master bathroom and closet corner.

Opposite the master bedroom is the guest room.

When you come back out the corridor into the main living area, the study and prayer area will be on the left.

Step into my office.

The balcony offers some fresh air and you can chill out here.

Enjoy the view while you're chilling out.

Keep enjoying.

Step back in whenever you wish.

Thanks for stopping by at my humble crib.

Flickr rocks.

My flickr site is up. And it's a wonder to use. I think I no longer need this blog.

"This is the return of the space cowboy...."

Working, traveling, partying and growing older. These are the things that have been keeping me occupied over the past 2 months or so.

For a while I thought the demise of this blog had finally arrived. But then I'm not one who gives up on things so easily.

On the 16th of November I traveled to the United Kingdom to participate in the British Telecoms open day. I spent a few days in London and a few days in Ipswich. On the 28th of November I took a flight to Rome where I spent 5 days.

This photo was taken at the Marina at Ipswich. Founded in the sixth century, Ipswich is a port city at the point where the river Gipping meets the estuary of the River Orwell. Originally called Gippeswic, it has been on the map since the Stone Age and was both a Roman and Anglo-Saxon settlement before being chartered as a town in 1200 by King John.

On one of the days on my 1st weekend there, we visited a fishing village called Aldeburgh located 2 hours from Ipswich. This photo of a sunset was taken on the shores of Aldeburgh.

Flashback...

Another picture from my Singapore trip...

View of Esplanade from Merlion Park.

Realisation and a devine calling....

OK....this is not going to be that easy. It appears that blogging requires a small but dedicated amount of time (which with my current schedule I don't have much of). Uploading photos seems to be quite a drag.

I'm still going to try anyway. I'll keep to just my favourite photos for now.

I visited Batu Caves last week during the holidays. I haven't been there in quite a while though I live just 8 minutes away. The place has changed quite a bit. A couple of pictures....

42.7 meters tall, 1,550 cubic metres of concrete, 250 tonnes of steel bars and 300 litres of gold paint brought in from Thailand. It took 15 sculptors from India over a period of 3 years to complete this magnificent statue of Lord Murugan.

I knew it was big, and I've seen it at least a hundred times from the MRR2 highway but when I actually stood right in front of the statue, it was amazing.

On the left side of the statue are the stairs leading to the cave temple and on the right, beautiful mountains.

The view from the entrance of the cave temple at the top. I like this picture a lot, because of the light coming in from the top of the cave after the set of stairs on the far end. There's another temple in that area. Very pretty place to be on a sunny morning.

My Office

A 180ยบ view of my office. Or at least a part of it. British Telecom plc, based in Kuala Lumpur...my workplace.

I have to give Ivan most of the credit for this photo. He took the pictures and on his camera, which is a Canon Digital IXUS 800IS also. I'm claiming some ownership to it because I thought him how to do it. :)

The photo is made up of 6 different photos that are merged into one. My camera comes with a software called Photostitch that makes this a snap.

Why?

I've never been a supporter of the blogging fad. I've nothing against it, but I never saw the point of publicly displaying my thoughts and expressions....until now. I've found a new passion. It's called a Canon Digital IXUS 800IS. Yeah, I bought a camera. And since then, I've been trigger happy. I even signed up at flickr.com.

So now, I thought to myself, I like taking pictures, I like showing them. Here I am, blogging, for the sole purpose of creating another avenue for myself to share my new passion. Taking pictures.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I'll ever revisit this page. This blog may already be dead, so let's see how it goes.

Here's my first favourite photograph. I'm not sure what to call it yet.

I took this picture at the National Museum of Singapore. I was at Singapore from the 10th to 15th of October, 2006. On my last day there, I took a stroll after breakfast and ended up here. I like this picture because it's full of opposites. The escalator indoors is facing a flight of staircases outdoors. The left side of the picture has straight lines while the right has a curve. The tiles indoor are smooth and shiny while the tiles outside are rough and non-reflective. The left side has some classic architecture and the right side modern. And the best part, if you can zoom to the top left, you will see the signboard indicating the washrooms, and on that signboard you will see the male and the female figures.
