Realisation and a devine calling....

OK....this is not going to be that easy. It appears that blogging requires a small but dedicated amount of time (which with my current schedule I don't have much of). Uploading photos seems to be quite a drag.

I'm still going to try anyway. I'll keep to just my favourite photos for now.

I visited Batu Caves last week during the holidays. I haven't been there in quite a while though I live just 8 minutes away. The place has changed quite a bit. A couple of pictures....

42.7 meters tall, 1,550 cubic metres of concrete, 250 tonnes of steel bars and 300 litres of gold paint brought in from Thailand. It took 15 sculptors from India over a period of 3 years to complete this magnificent statue of Lord Murugan.

I knew it was big, and I've seen it at least a hundred times from the MRR2 highway but when I actually stood right in front of the statue, it was amazing.

On the left side of the statue are the stairs leading to the cave temple and on the right, beautiful mountains.

The view from the entrance of the cave temple at the top. I like this picture a lot, because of the light coming in from the top of the cave after the set of stairs on the far end. There's another temple in that area. Very pretty place to be on a sunny morning.
